How to customize the widget background and upload your own images

Change background for an event (used by the widget)
- Open Moments and go to the event you want to change.
- Tap Edit (pencil icon) or the event background preview.
- Choose one of the options:
- Unsplash: browse free images. Tap an image to select it.
- Upload / From photos: pick an image from your device gallery.
- Default: revert to the app’s built-in choices.
- Crop or reposition the selected image if the editor appears, then tap Save.
How to verify
- Open your home screen widget; the background should match the event’s new background within a few seconds.
Problems & fixes
- If the uploaded photo doesn’t appear:
- Ensure Moments has Photos permission in device Settings.
- Try re-opening the app after uploading and re-saving the event background.
- If Unsplash images fail to load, check your internet connection.
Edge cases
- High-resolution images may be auto-cropped to fit the widget aspect ratio—preview before saving to ensure important parts aren’t cut off.
